Special award “S.O.S. CHILDREN’S VILLAGES”

If already in its etymology, the word welcome reveals a program of life, it is easy to understand how welcome is the keystone of the SOS Children’s Villages network. A simple concept, an intrinsic value of human nature, which is today the principle on which the Mother and Child Program is based. A project that opens the doors to the mother-child nucleus, offering them hospitality and support where there is abuse, neglect and deprivation on a daily basis. This is also the daily mission of the SOS Village of Ostuni where the Mother and Child Program has been reactivated to give concrete answers, in an act of total openness and protection towards those who have difficulties. Because the Children’s Villages are not only safe shelters, but active guardians on the path to independence for those who have experienced violence. They’re beacons in the middle of the storm.
