DON MAURIZIO PATRICIELLO

“Man for human rights” Award

Among the wounded streets of Caivano, where hope seems a luxury and silence a duty, Don Maurizio Patriciello chose to stay. With the Gospel in his hands and unwavering courage to strengthen his heart. A shield for the weakest, the echo of a faith that becomes action, he raised his voice against social inequities, the abuses of the Camorra, and the prevailing indifference in the Land of Fires. Transforming pain into civil prayer, words into a battle for dignity, and denunciation into an act of love. A father, a brother, a guide for those who have lost everything: in his eyes burns the flame of a justice that does not falter even in the darkness, that does not surrender in the face of the most cowardly intimidation. Amidst fires and threats, his mission is a seed planted in the lands of fear. A bell tower that awakens consciences, demonstrating to the world that one can believe in peace even while walking through the storm. And that there is always a greater good worth risking for: that truth which is, above all, an act of charity.
